About

The Granite CommUNITY Foundation was founded by four family members  that had a passion to come together to preserve and restore their community.  Our ancestors that
lived in the Granite area were owners of land and are the direct descendants of
Enslaved Africans that resided on 3 plantations that are located in the City of
Richmond. Our goal is to honor our ancestors by creating a connection with the community, friends, families, and the surrounding areas to teach about the history and what they can do to help redevelop the inherited lands. As members of the GC Foundation, we know the importance of family and togetherness and this is just the beginning of an amazing journey. We are extremely excited to be a part of this community and we are willing to go above and beyond!
